We take your safety seriously at iDate2010 and strive to do our best to ensure that you and your details remain safe and secure at all times. We'll take care of the data and security side of things for you, but for those of you that are new to online dating, here is some online dating advice to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable online dating experience.
Hold back
Make sure that you don't give out personal information, such as bank details, telephone number or your address to anybody until you know them enough to do so.
Think safety
If you decide to meet up with someone you've met online, only do so after you've got to know them and trust them. Try video chatting and exchanging emails or telephone calls first. When you meet up, let someone know where you will be, when and have your mobile on you so that you can text or call them to let them know you're okay. A common trick is to confirm a time to call a friend/family member, and if you don't "check in" by that time they can call you to see if everything is okay.
Your account
Don't give anybody your online dating account details. Whilst it could be fun to have a joke at your expence, it could also be dangerous if they hand out your personal information. Likewise, our members take online dating very seriously and wouldn't appreciate being messed around.
Credit/Debit Card details
We will never email you to ask for your payment details, so if anybody ever does contact you
requestng them, let us know immediately. Once you've paid for full membership everything will be automatically taken as agreed. If there is a problem with your card we'll let you know that you should log in to check they are correct. |
